Following the harmonisation of the state executive members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo by the national body, the Coordinator, Communication and Strategy of the Seyi Makinde Organisation, Prince Dotun Oyelade has said that the harmonisation exercise body calls for sober reflection rather than flexing of muscles or jubilation.
It would be recalled that the state executive members have been harmonised into 14/12 agreement between a group loyal to the former governor of the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Seyi Makinde, respectively.
According to Prince Oyelade; “the disagreement was between members of the same political family who are focused on a single objective which is to end the regime of anguish of the working class, untold poverty caused by misplaced priorities, desecration of long-cherished traditional Institutions and insensitivity to the self-esteem of both leaders and the downtrodden.”
The harmonisation Oyelade said, was in line with the template which the Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee earlier put in place had recommended.
Prince Oyelade expressed “delight at the maturity of leaders across the divide” and singled out Senator Rashidi Ladoja for special praise.
Other leaders whose name came in for mentioning included Dr Saka Balogun, Hon Mulikat Adeola Akande, Senator Hosea Agboola, Engr Seyi Makinde and others.
Oyelade noted that “Mobilisation and sensitisation of the people to take their fate in their hands in the build-up to the 2019 elections will now begin without distractions while the Youth Volunteer Corp will lead the way because of the belief that our youths, frustrated and abandoned, are finally ready to take their rightful position.”
