Engr Oyedele Hakeem Alao, the gubernatorial candidate of Alliance for Democracy (AD) in the 2019 elections in Oyo State, has commiserated with Governor Seyi Makinde and other members of the Makinde family over the death of their mother, who transited to eternity on Thursday, 15th of October, 2020.
In a release by his media aide, Omotayo Iyanda, Engr Hakeem Alao described Mrs Abigail Makinde (nee Omoregbe) as a successful mother. He said mama was hardworking, a quality she inherited from her late father, to the extent that she trained to become a competent typist and stenographer and against all odds she tried hard to ensure that her children got educated so as to put a better future ahead of them. That effort today has produced the governor of Oyo State, Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, Chief (Barr) Samuel Muyiwa Makinde and other siblings.
Mama Abigail Makinde has not lived in vain; she has come, seen and survived. Mama Abigail Makinde, just like every other responsible parent, endured her children when they were growing up. Of a particular attention was our governor when he was growing up. From childhood to adulthood, Mama had to understand his son, the little Seyi, as he demonstrated a principled mindset, which, of course, is a quality of a leader.
Engr Hakeem Alao finally said, “It is on this note, I, Oyedele Hakeem Alao, on behalf of myself, my family and the entire OHA Campaign Organisation, commiserate with our governor, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, Chief Muyiwa Makinde and other Makinde family members, on the death of our mother, Mrs Abigail Makinde.
“I, therefore, pray God to give the entire family the fortitude to bear the loss and grant Mama a peaceful eternal rest.”
