The Elders’ Forum of the Accord Party in Oyo State, yesterday, called on the electorate to disregard the news doing round that the party has collapsed its structure into another party, especially the People’s Democratic party (PDP) governorship candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde and the All Progressives’ Congress, (APC), Senator Teslim Folarin.
The Party’s elders across the 33 local government areas in the state, in a press statement made available to journalists by Comrade Sanjo Akanmu, urged lovers and admirers of the party never to adopt Makinde nor Senator Folarin in the forthcoming governorship poll.
It would be recalled that leaders of Accord Party in Oyo State, had on Wednesday, declared support for Makinde for the scheduled for Saturday 18th March,2023.
The elders said the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Chief Adebayo Adelabu and other State Assembly candidates are in the race and poised to coast home to victory.
They urged the electorate to vote for all Accord Party candidates in the March 18 poll.
The Party’s Elders added that the party is solidly behind the contest of all candidates on the platform of the party, with the assurance their efforts will be crowned at the polls.
“All the leaders and Elders of Accord across the 33 local government councils of Oyo State hereby wish to inform the good people of our state and all lovers and admirers of Accord Party and its candidates.
“Our Party Accord has no working agreement with neither Governor Seyi Makinde nor Senator Teslim on the coming governorship elections.
“Our governorship candidate and all the state assembly candidates are going to contest the March 18 elections’’.
The elders implored the electorate to massively vote for all candidates of the Accord Party in Oyo State for better representation in the state.
“That the good people Of Oyo State are solidly behind Oloye Adebayo Adelabu to win the governorship and state assembly election.
“Adelabu And our State Assembly candidates will contest and win the election by the grace of God and the unflinching support of the people ” ,the Elders concluded.
