Artisans, Traders and concerned residents of Ibadan South West state constituency one, on Thursday, stormed the Oyo State Secretariat to pass vote of confidence on the lawmaker representing the constituency, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi.
The protesters were seen carrying placards with various descriptions demanding for the continuity of the lawmaker for another term of four years.
Speaking on behalf of the group Mrs. Rofiat Adeyemi, appreciated the state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his leadership quality that he is using to govern the state and the party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
They expressed their happiness for the consensus arrangement adopted to spare the party from undue time wasting and resources.
Listing some of the achievements of Hon. Yusuf Adebisi in less than three years, Mr. Akinwale and Mrs. Adeyemi, disclosed that the lawmaker initiated the construction of police station to forestall regular gang clashes in Foko, Gege, Popo and Born Photo and other adjourning communities.
They mentioned that Hon. Adebisi facilitated renovation and remodeling of primary healthcare center in the constituency to ensure provision of free andnquality health care services.
Akinwale and Adeyemi also added that the lawmaker gave financial assistance to traders at Oritamerin, Iso-Obi, Iso-Ata and Iso-Ero all in Oja’ba Market to boost their trading activities. This, they said is apart from vocational training programme organized for youths in hairdressing, barbing, and tailoring among others.
The group, therefore, commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the consensus arrangement adopted that will allow Hon. Yusuf Adebisi to continue with the good work he had started.
It also appealed to the people in the constituency to shun sponsored blackmail and propaganda by some people attempting to truncate activities in the party.
The group therefore appeal to the politicians calm down and take lesson from holy month to embrace peace.
