A prominent political movement in Oyo state, Isokan Ipinle Oyo has commended the state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on the recent upgrading of Obafemi Awolowo Airport, Alakia, Ibadan to international standard.
In a release signed by its convener, Dr Laolu Adepoju in Ibadan on Thursday said the upgrading will no doubt boost the economic activities in and around the state as well as neighbouring Southwest states.
The group stated that the airport has over the years been neglected by previous administrations both at the state and the centre until the coming on board of Governor Seyi Makinde which before now has changed the face of the Airport.
It said the face lift and upgrading to international standard is surely part of many things to come into the state during the last lap of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Isokan Ipinle Oyo also in the statement appreciated the state Governor for his quick and timely response to the spread of Cholera which has killed many lives in other state but only one in Oyo State since it’s spread.
The group attributed the timely intervention to the proactiveness of the state government under the visionary leadership of Gov Makinde which is leading the state by example.
It also praised the bravery and professionalism of health workers across the state to curtail the spread and ensure wellness of the pple of the state.
Isokan Ipinle Oyo highlighted the recent recruitment of workers into various sectors in the state as another milestone in the governance of Oyo State.
The group said the people of Oyo State has never had it so good under any administration in the past until now and commended the Governor for being people friendly Governor since coming on board and called on the people of the state to rally support for the governor and member of his team.
