Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura has appreciated the University of Ibadan for finding him worthy to award him in recondition of his tremendous efforts towards services for people living with disabilities and special needs in the state
Receiving the award the Commissioner for Science and Special Education Prof. Jonathan Ayuba the Governor described the award as an elixir that would benefit people with disability.
Governor Almakura stated he was very to be associated with people living with disability , further stating they had been discriminated against for a very long time , hoping that this would be the beginning of inclusiveness.
Governor Almakura then dedicated the award to disabled community , with the hope and prayer that Almighty God would inspire the minds of leaders in the country to come to the aid and support of people living with disability .
Presenting the award on behalf of the University of Ibadan, the Commissioner for Science and Special Education Prof. Jonathan Ayuba congratulated the Governor for the services being rendered to the people most especially children living with disabilities.
Governor Almakura has been receiving accolades for the establishment of the pioneer special school which was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari February this year. among other special needs projects carried out.
