Hon. Olumide Ojerinde better knows as Omoolore has wowed his constituency with mouthwatering achievements over the past 3 years as a first timer at the red chamber.

It’s not new to everyone that his philanthropic acts and family background made people refer to him as Omoolore (in yoruba; the son of a cheerful giver or better still a giver per excellent) and he has demonstrated the ability of this nickname so far even before he emerged as the Legislator representing Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo at the red chamber.

Omoolore is a son to the great philanthropist and erudite professor that hails from Orelope local government of Oyo state (Igboho), Professor Dibu Ojerinde. It is no doubt that the son takes after his father with the policy of giving to the poor, empowering and creating employment opportunities for his people that would enable them to be an independent individuals on their own without relying on the rich to make ends meet.

However, Omoolore isn’t an accidental cheerful giver, he’s been giving out to people and using his capacity to empower different people since his childhood days, there are alot of references and testimonies from the people he grew up with, he has been so humane and kind before he become a legislator. His track records and family background made the people of Old Irepo federal constituency to massively vote for him in 2019 and he has so far delivered more than expected.

Hon. Olumide Ojerinde is the first lawmaker representing Old Irepo constituency to enpower people irrespective of their political party, he has extended his good deeds to different people irrespective of their ethnicity, religions belief or political affiliation across the 3 towns encompass in his constituency. This has however, made alot of people to love his style of representation and want him to do it again for the development and reputation of his excellent performance so far.

Moreso, its very rare of a first timer in the red chamber to be able to deliver to the level at which Omoolore has delivered. He’s the first lawmaker representing Old Irepo constituency to successfully pass a bill that facilitated a federal government factory or company, which is the Cassava factory situated in Olorunsogo Local Government, Igbeti and also did well on educational and agricultural sector too.

Hon. Olumide Ojerinde is not a biased legislator as we have been experiencing in Old Irepo, the tradition and believe of the people is to rotate representative every 4 years among the 3 towns, which would trigger each representative to basically cater for his town/local government ahead of others. Its a selfish believe and has hindered the progress and development of Old Irepo constituency. Omoolore was exceptional as he boycotted the selfish believe and demonstrated the dividend of democracy among the 3 towns he represented unlike before.

Truth be told, the achievements of Hon. Olumide Ojerinde is physical to the blind and audible to the deaf, there’s no household in the 3 local governments that made up Old Irepo that haven’t benefitted directly or indirectly from Omoolore’s representation.

The feedback so far has been encouraging and a good term deserves another. A lot of things has to be changed to enhance the progress of Old Irepo, most of the elites and intellectuals are aware that for a lawmaker to empower individuals and bring more development to the constituency, there would be a second term chance because going again would be a privilege to spearhead different portfolios in the House as well as a chance to be recongnised and be taken serious by the Parliament.

Lastly, giving chance to Omoolore again would be an opportunity for Old Irepo constituency to move forward and bring about more developments and empowerment to the constituents. Igbeti, Igboho and Kishi needs Omoolore more than he need us because he’s not going there to loot as we have seen so far, he’s going their for the interest of the people. He has shown us the true dividend of democracy and has been a link between the people and the federal government so far, we need more of it and we are convinced with what Hon. Olumide Ojerinde has achieved because this is first of its kind in Old Irepo constituency.

Every progressive youths and individuals that sincerely love Old irepo constituency over their personal interest need to deeply think about what could be the future of this constituency if Omoolore is chanced to go for a second term because as a first timer he has delivered excellently, he’s a better definition of; A good term, deserves another.

Igbehti, Olorunsogo Local Government.
