Forget Differences, Join Hands To Make PDP Great – Oorelope LG Chairmanship Candidate Urges

Ahead of the forthcoming local government election in Oyo State, the chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Akeem Raheem, has called on all members of the party to forget their differences and join hands to make the party better and greater in the local government.

Raheem equally called on residents of the local government to continue to support the PDP and the government of Engr. Seyi Makinde, which according to him, means well for the local government and has been doing well in transforming the state.

The chairmanship candidate made these statements on Wednesday at the Baptist Central School, Oke-Afin, Igboho, shortly after attending his first PDP general meeting in the local government after his nomination as the standard-bearer of the party for the May 15, 2021 local government election.

A statement signed by the Media Coordinator of Raheem’s campaign, ARA Campaign Team, Musediq Ayandiji, quoted the candidate as appreciating all party leaders and members in the local government for rallying behind the party during the primaries and for the confidence reposed in him to fly the flag of the party.

Raheem said: “I give glory to Almighty Allah for the privilege to attend my first general meeting after my nomination as the candidate of the party for the local government election.

“My words to our leaders and members are those of appreciation and gratitude. I appreciate everyone for standing by the party during the primaries and for the confidence reposed in me to fly the party’s flag.

“I also want to charge everyone to forget the past and focus on how we can all make our party greater. We all must come together to prosecute the forthcoming election and also strengthen our party for victories in all future elections.

“Let me also use this opportunity to urge residents of the local government to continue to support the PDP, especially the government of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, because it means well for our local government. As the ambassadors of that government, we will bring good governance and dividends of democracy home to our people, if elected into office at the local government level.”

Some of the leaders in attendance at the meeting include: Alhaji Yakub Oladoja (former Oyo North PDP Senatorial Chairman), Hon. Tajudeen Adeniran, Mr. Abdulganiy Ajanla (Oorelope PDP Vice Chairman), Alhaja Rabiu Medinat, Mrs. Adekunle Medina (Women Leader), Alhaji Yussuf Sarafadeen (Al-Wajud), Alh. Muritala Adeladan.

Others were: Hon. Yussuf Wasiu Way, Alhaji Rasaq Ajibade, Mr.Ajinbi, Alh.Jimoh Elelubo and Hon. Asimiyu Apon.
