The Ajanaku Chieftaincy Family of Okepopo, Lagos Island, has announced the burial arrangements for their patriarch, Late Pa Olusegun Samuel Ajanaku, who peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the venerable age of 88.
Hon. Rotimi Ajanaku, speaking on behalf of the family, disclosed that the final rites honouring Pa Ajanaku will commence on Tuesday, April 30.
The procession will begin with the transfer of Pa Ajanaku’s remains from Ibadan to Lagos Island, his cherished hometown, for a poignant lying-in-state ceremony at the family compound, situated at number 55 Okepopo, Lagos Island.
On Wednesday, May 1, Pa Ajanaku’s body will return to Ibadan, where a Christian Wake Keep will be held at his residence, No. 22, Lane 2, Aare Avenue, Oluyole Estate, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Thursday, May 2, will witness the final interment at St. Paul Anglican Church’s Cemetery in the Odo-Ona area of Ibadan, following a solemn church service at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Odo-Ona.
To celebrate Pa Ajanaku’s life and legacy, the renowned King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM1) will provide musical tribute and entertainment at the Harbour Point Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday, May 3.
In emphasising the family’s commitment to security and dignity, access to the Harbour Event Centre will be strictly by invitation.
