High Chief Akinyemi Akinlabi, a former Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, has called on constituents to rally behind Rep. Anthony Adepoju (PDP-Ibarapa Central/North) in order to foster development in the constituency.
Akinlabi made this plea in a congratulatory message he personally signed, which was made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Ibadan.
This message comes after Adepoju’s victory in the February 25 National Assembly election was upheld by the Appellate Court.
Adepoju’s electoral win was challenged by the APC Candidate, Hon. Ajibola Muraina, but both the tribunal and the Appellate Court ultimately upheld Adepoju’s victory.
In light of this, Akinlabi congratulated Adepoju on the revalidation of his mandate and urged constituents to transcend partisan politics and unite behind their elected representative.
According to Akinlabi, now that the legal proceedings surrounding the election have been fully settled, it is time for constituents to set aside their political affiliations and work together with Adepoju in maximizing the benefits of federal power for the development of the constituency.
Akinlabi emphasised that unity and support from constituents are crucial in order for Adepoju to effectively deliver on his development agenda.
He further highlighted the importance of putting aside partisan politics in order to foster progress and maximize the potential benefits provided by federal power.
“With unity and collective effort, the constituents have the opportunity to fully maximize the benefits of federal power in order to bring about tangible development,” he said
