A 41-year-old driver, Nurudeen Ogunbona, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court by the police for allegedly threatening the life of his boss, Mr. Adedapo Lam-Adesina.
Ogunbona, whose address was not given, is facing charges of threat to life and breach of peace. He pleaded not guilty
Prosecuting counsel, Cpl. Akeem Akinloye told the court that in July, the defendant allegedly sent text messages and voice notes threatening his boss.
Lam-Adesina represented Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency from 2015 to 2019 under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akinloye also said the defendant allegedly told his boss he would deal with him, an act likely to cause a breach of peace. The incident was said to have occurred around 10:30 a.m. at Lam-Adesina’s Alalubosa GRA residence in Ibadan.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravened Sections 86 and 249 (D) of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000
Bail was granted by Chief Magistrate Olabisi Ogunkanmi in the sum of N250,000, with two sureties of the same amount, one of whom is a relative of the defendant. The hearing was scheduled for Dec. 8.
