As part of activities lined up to mark the 45th remembrance of his late father, former Executive Chairman of Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Waheed Mobolaji Adeleke, and his daughter, Adejumoke Adeleke, have donated school materials worth N500,000 to some primary schools in Iseyin.
The donation, partly sponsored by Adejumoke under the Positive Force Initiative (PFI), includes exercise books, pencils, erasers, and pens. The materials were distributed to pupils in Faramora Community Primary School and ADS School 1, 2, and 3.
Adeleke reiterated that the donation marks the commencement of activities lined up for the remembrance of his late father, Alhaji Mustafa Adeleke, who passed away in 1980.
While speaking, Adeleke called on teachers and coordinators to ensure fair distribution of the materials. He also urged the state government to develop a sound education policy that makes classrooms attractive to teachers and learners.
Chairman of the Planning Committee and Faramora Community, Comrade Babatunde Dapo, disclosed that the donation was initiated to aid the education of less privileged pupils.
Major Fatai Shittu Agba (Rtd), who chaired the occasion, praised Adeleke for his philanthropic gestures. Other dignitaries, including Alhaj Jeleel Yakub, Comrade Awoniyi R.A, Comrade Ademola Wasiu, and Alhaji Abdullah Badrudeen, lauded Adeleke’s generosity.
