Europe returnee, Sunday Faleye on Sunday was the hero as the Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC, defeated Dakkada FC by a lone goal Warriors.
He e scored the only goal of the match for his side in an NPFL closed door match played at Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
He broke the deadlock on his second debut for 3SC in the 78th minute having replaced Ebenezer Odeyemi in the first hour of the game.
The winning moves 3SC from 10th to fifth on the log as they will be playing Plateau United in their next match.
Speaking after the match, 3SC coach, Edith Agoye said the game was a difficult one having to play without home supporters.
He said “The first half was a difficult one and that is why we reinforced the attack in the second half with the introduction of Sunday Faleye, Malomo Taofeek and Wasiu Alalade which was positive for us at the end of the 90 minute of play.
“We kept possession, we were not dangerous and the introduction of these players earned us the maximum three points,” he said.
Speaking on the inclusion of Faleye into the team, Agoye said “Definitely it is a great addition, the goal he scored today is an example of what he can bring to any team and we are very happy that everything we talked about him before bringing him in, he demonstrated in the few minutes he was on the pitch. We can only hope that he would build on this momentum in our next matches.”
Also, Dakkada FC head coach, Umar Danlami said the better team won saying “3SC deserved the three maximum three points as my boys lost concentration towards the end.”
