The Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Honourable Akeem Raheem, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah in the council and Oyo State on the occasions of the Eid-el-Maolud, charging them to emulate the qualities of Prophet Muhammad.
Raheem gave this charge on Tuesday in a message of felicitations to Muslims on the occasion of the Holy Prophet’s birthday, calling on them to toe the path of the Prophet.
According to Raheem, the occasion of the birth of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) is always a glorious opportunity to reflect on the exemplary life of service to God and humanity, which Prophet Muhammad lived.
“As Muslims, the Eid-el-Maolud is an annual reminder of the life we must strive to live and the godly standard we must attain in conformity to the qualities of the Holy Prophet.
“As we celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Maolud, I congratulate my Muslim brothers and sisters and urge them to continue to live in love and harmony.
“Only in an atmosphere of peaceful co-existence can all our aspirations be met; thus, Muslims must continue to emulate the Holy Prophet in terms of good neighbourliness and also support the government of the day in prayers and actions.
“It is my prayer that Allah (SWT) continues to protect and bless us to witness more Eid-el-Maolud.”
