The Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor, Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka has enjoined Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to employ the spiritual ethos of easter for unity and peaceful co-existence.
Ilaka urged the residents of Oyo state to employ the doctrine of easter which he said includes; peace, love and sacrifice in contributing to unity and peaceful co-existence.
“Easter represents the triumph of good over evil, and life over death. It is also a time to show love, forgiveness, compassion and renewed hope” he said.
The Oyo High Chief who was the Oyo central senatorial candidate of the People Democratic Party, PDP in the last general election also used the easter celebration to appeal to residents of Oyo state to follow all measures government has put in place to contain, prevent and control Covid-19 pandemic.
According to him, the measures are to maintain social distance, use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer regularly, limit physical contact, stay at home and many others.
The Ladilu of Oyo also commended His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his efforts towards steering the ship of the state to a steady path of economic growth, job creation and development.
