A gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, Professor Adeolu Akande has felicitated with Christians, especially residents of the state as the world celebrates Easter.
Akande, in a statement, said that Easter season is significant in the history of mankind and central to Christian faith as it brings into the front burner, the narration and power of sacrifice, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind.
Akande, who is currently the Chairman, Governing Board, National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, stressed that there was the need for everyone to imbibe the virtue of sacrifice as demonstrated by Jesus Christ, stressing that more than ever the nation needs selfless leaders and sacrificial citizenry that will collectively lift the nation out of the wood.
While urging Nigerians to take advantage of the season to seek the mercy and favour of God for the healing of the nation and individual prosperity, he noted also that there was the need for people of all faiths to be tolerant, live in harmony and pursue common objective of love, happiness and prosperity.
Akande also called on religious leaders, and opinion moulders to tap into the spirit of the season to shower kindness, love and provide help for the vulnerable in the society.
While calling for a high sense of diligent and security consciousness as people gather everywhere to worship, he specifically challenged Nigerians to pray and intercede fervently for this election year in Oyo state as well as restoration of abundant peace and prosperity to the country.
