A Political Chieftain and Philanthropist, Reverend Dr. Adenike Victor Tade, popularly known as Mama Empowerment has called on the Nigerian youths to be the change the country needs most.
Reverend Adenike made this call on Wednesday while receiving the delegation of the Students’ Union Government, SUG, of the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa at her office in Ibadan.
Mama empowerment, while addressing the leadership of the union, explained that the older generation might have failed in some areas but it is the youths’ responsibility to change the mentality and keen on finding ways to change the status quo and move the country forward.
“You are the leader of today because whatever you are planning to manifest tomorrow, you must display it now.
“As representatives of your school, I want you to go back to your campus with my words as we the older generation are already leaders of yesterday while you are the leaders of today. It is important that you show a good character and determination to take this country to a better place.
“Youths must work harder, if the older generation has failed, the current generation must not inherit failure. It is your responsibility to put an end to errors made by the previous generation. Don’t celebrate failure and don’t hand over failure to the next generation.”
Reverend Adenike Victor Tade added that the youths must discover what is right if they really want to change the country as they are the solutions to many of the problems facing the giant of Africa at the moment.
“You must discover what befits this country and you must be determined in achieving the Nigeria you all want.”
Mama empowerment urged the students to put in mind entrepreneurship as it is a way to build oneself in all ramifications.
“Schools won’t do it alone, you must learn skills and learn it well because you will become your own boss and provide more employment opportunities through that. Go back to your school and let all students of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic know the advantages of being an entrepreneur.”
In response, the delegation of the Students Union Government, Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa appreciated the word of encouragement and the advice of Reverend Dr. Adenike Victor Tade and promised to take it to heart and utilize it in quest to achieving a better Nigeria.
