The Ọmọlúàbí in Ibadan will not forget in a hurry the unique party experience Goldberg premium lager beer delivered to them at the takeover party that held on Sunday, 20th March 2022 at the Goldberg Enjoyment Centre, Orioke, Mokola.
The event, which is aimed at celebrating traditional music redefined through modernity, saw Karkarkey, the Ayanwale of Goldberg engage the audience with his dexterity on the talking drum alongside famous eulogist Asadoyin Abefe who entertained the audience with the oriki of Ibadanland.
The DJ battle featured two of Ibadan’s disc jockeys, DJ Gavpop and DJ Secxy, going head to head, dishing out a fusion of traditional and modern music for the listening pleasure of the audience. After a keen contest, Goldberg awarded DJ Secxy the cash prize of six hundred thousand naira (N600,000) while DJ Gavpop took home the sum of four hundred thousand naira (N400,000) having scored 196 and 187 votes respectively at the end of the session.
Goldberg brand ambassador, DJ Kaywise also took the crowd to a different level of excitement with his performance.
The crowd could not help but sing along as sensational music artist, Small Doctor engaged the audience with his songs. DJ YK, the final act of the night, shut down the show with his smash hits.

What you have seen tonight is our way of recognising their hard work and giving them an opportunity to enjoy. The DJ battle was keenly contested as you can see from the votes.

In a related development, a delegation of the brand recently paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Olalekan Balogun, at his residence in Ibadan.
A statement made available to newsmen said the monarch endorsed Goldberg Lager Beer.
The statement read in part: “Goldberg, the premium lager beer from the stables of Nigerian Breweries has been endorsed by the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Olalekan Balogun.”
The team led by Tayo Ogundana, Brewery Manager, Nigerian Breweries (Ibadan and Ijebu Ode), said they were at the palace to congratulate the monarch on his recent installation as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland and restate the brand’s commitment to the community.
Addressing the delegation, the Olubadan thanked Nigerian Breweries for its continued contribution to the growth and economic development of Nigeria and Ibadanland. He went a step further to endorse Goldberg as the beer of choice, recognising its role in keeping tradition and values alive in modern times.
“Goldberg has over the years been known for celebrating our heritage. This is a noble course as we strive to preserve our traditional values in the face of modernity. I am aware of the tremendous support Goldberg gave during my coronation as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan.
“This is a good development which I and the people of Ibadanland so much appreciate. Do keep up the good work. I hereby bless this drink and wish you the best,” Oba Olalekan prayed.
Nigerian Breweries commissioned its Ibadan brewery in 1982 and is one of the largest employers of labour in Oyo State.
