Amid defection rumours, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South Federal constituency Hon. Dapo Lam-Adesina met with some former Oyo State House of Assembly lawmakers who visited the former governor of Kano state, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, in Abuja.
The former Oyo Assembly lawmakers are Adekunle Tunji Rafiu (Saki West and former Minority Leader), Adetunji Fatai Salam (Iseyin/Itesiwaju), Hammed Abiodun Adigun (Akinyele II ), Olagunju Kolade (Akinyele 1), Adesope Azeez (Oorelope), Adegoke Thomas Abiodun (Kajola) and Ojo Samson Bamidele ( Ibadan South East ).
Recall that InsideOYO.com had earlier reported that five members of the House of Representatives from Oyo state defected from Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to new parties. As much as people expected him to be among, Dapo Lam-Adesina’s name was missing despite being a member of the Unity Forum, the aggrieved and breakaway faction of the Oyo chapter of the ruling APC.
The son of the former Oyo State governor told an online platform that he will not disappoint his supporters although he did not reveal his next move.
“Events in the coming weeks will show where I truly belong. There is no doubt about that. My supporters will not be disappointed. Without them, there will be no me. I want to thank them for standing by me since the crisis started,” he said.
