The Soun Township Stadium in Ogbomoso was yesterday Saturday 4th May, 2019 agog as the football loving spectators cheered their darling Crown FC to victory against the visiting Lamray United FC from Enugu in the Week 4 Group B4 Fixtures of the Nigeria National League (NNL ) in the Southern Conference.
Dirty clearance from Chinonso Edeh , ruggedness of Neyin Benjamin and calmness of Elijah Onyekwere in goal for the guests, saved the visitors from a third minute (3rd) early goal by Chibuike Nwankwo.
The Ajilete Warriors looking confidently comfortable started the game on a lighter note with classical one touch passes connecting the sharp and very crafty Isah Seidu at the right flank who was locating Adeyemi Adeyeye and Chibuike Nwankwo upfront, thereby pressurizing the Coach Emordi taught lads.
A minor thigh knock on Chibuike Nwankwo sent him off the pitch in the fourteenth (14th) minute for the for former 3sc ace striker. Bode Daniel whose inclusion gave Crown FC very good combination upfront.
The guests , with the help of their goal keeper, Elijah Onyekwere and Vincent Alepikpi were intermittently delaying the game to reduce the intense pressure on the defense line while some of their players were intentionally falling on the pitch like logs of wood.
The visitors rejoiced when the centre referee, Otuwoh Humprey, ended the goalless draw first half.
The second half saw the guests playing more dangerously harmful but the Oyekale tutored side kept to their tikitaka playing style ,making many goal attempts and left the guests running helter skelter on the pitch of play.
The injection of Kingsley Nnaji and Eboko Ikechukwu for Kenneth Ezeah and Chidi Nwobodo in the sixty fifth (65th) and eighty third (83rd) minutes respectively did not add any value to their side as the Soun Boys kept mounting pressure on them.
Odudu Sunday and Fabode Olaitan who came on for Isah Seidu and Ahmed Yahya in the sixty fifth (65th) and eighty third (83rd ) minutes justified their coming on for the Ajilete Warriors.
Adeyemi Adeyeye gave Crown FC the only goal in the encounter from a well connected header from Oginni Olatunbosun’s well located lob.
Crown FC is currently topping the Group B4 table with seven (7) points from three(3) games with plus three goals (+3) and will travel to play Ibom Youths FC in far away Akwa Ibom in the Week Five (5) Fixtures of the NNL on Saturday 11th May, 2019.
