As a way of assisting the government in containing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, a group known as Oke Ogun Community Development Forum on Wednesday, distributed about 1,500 nose masks to students in Itesiwaju and Saki East local government areas.
The group which members are sons and daughters of Oke Ogun is a non-governmental and non-political group.
Speaking with insideoyo.com, the Coordinator of the group, Surv. Eegundiran Oluwakayode Abiodun (mnis) said the gesture was to support the government in the fight against the deadly coronavirus.
Eegundiran said 22 Primary schools were visited in Saki East local government area where nose masks were given to Primary 6 pupils while 10 schools were visited in Itesiwaju local government area where Senior Secondary School Students 3 were given nose masks.
He said “We visited Itesiwaju and Saki East local government areas. At Saki East, we visited 22 primary schools, Primary 6 pupils were given nose masks. At Itesiwaju local government area, the nose masks were given to all SSS3 students in 10 schools.
“We have 10 local governments in Oke Ogun and we can not cover all at a time, we are already visited Iwajowa, Atisbo, Kajola and Oorelope local government areas.
“Now is the turn of Itesiwaju and Saki East, December by God grace, we are going to another two local government areas.”
