A former lawmaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Olusegun Olaleye popularly known as Radical brother has donated the sum of 50,000 naira to support the Seyi Makinde-led administration in its fight against the coronavirus disease.
Also, four of his children namely Ifeoluwa Olaleye, Oluwatodimu Olaleye, Oluwatimilehin Olaleye and Inioluwa Olaleye have donated 1,000 each from their savings to support the fight against the pandemic disease.
According the the bank teller made available to insideoyo.com, the payments were made on Thursday to the Oyo State Covid-19 Endowment Fund account.
Radical who represented Ibadan North State Constituency II twice said that he donated to assist the state government and its task force in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
He said “His Excellcncy Engineer Seyi Makinde has been up front in the fight against Covid-19. There’s a need for people to support this government irrespective of political affiliation.
“I have donated the sum of fifty thousand naira (N50,000) to the Oyo State Government for the fight against coronavirus disease. I urge sons and daughters of Oyo state both home and in diaspora to support this government during this trying time.
“My children have also donated One thousand naira each from their personal savings to support Engineer Seyi Makinde and his government for Covid-19. ”
Speaking, Inioluwa Olaleye who is 11-year-old said the goodwork and goodwill of Engineer Seyi Makinde made her to donate her savings meant to buy pizza for the state.
“I love Engineer Seyi Makinde, his work and good plan for the state made me to donate. I saved that money to buy pizza. But for the love I have for him and the love he has for the people of Oyo state, I have donated part of my savings to support him.”
Also speaking, Ifeoluwa said he was sad when he heard the news that the Governor tested positive. She said she put the Governor in her prayers anytime they pray at home.
“When I heard that Governor Seyi Makinde tested positive. I was sad, I was afraid. So I decided to put him in my prayers anytime I’m praying. His news of recovery made my day that day.
“I was very happy. So, I also donated part of my savings to support him in the fight against the deadly disease, because no amount is too small. I want to use this medium to call on everyone to support the government to win the war against the coronavirus disease”. she said.
Insideoyo.com recalls that Oyo state has 11 confirmed cases of coronavirus with no casualty while two patients have been discharged including the state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
