Gubernatorial candidate of Advanced Allied Party (AAP) in the 2019 general elections in Oyo State, Reverend Adenike Victor -Tade, has launched an aggressive campaign against Coronavirus also known as Covid-19 in the state.
Victor-Tade kicked off the campaign at Oke-Ado market in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State, where she, with the support of the other members of her team, sensitized the residents of the state about the reality of existence of Covid-19.
She also took her sensitisation campaign to other local government areas such as Ibadan North, Ibadan South East, Ido and Egbeda.
She distributed hygiene materials to the residents of the state.
Victor-Tade distributed hand-wash solvents, sanitizers, nose guards and other kits to the people of the metropolis to help them cope with the outbreak of the disease and protect themselves well.
During the sensitization campaigns, Victor-Tade informed the people about the signs of the infection of the viral disease and what to do when the symptoms of the epidemic were noticed in anybody.
While advising residents to take seriously and practise precautionary measures as regular washing of hands, coughing and sneezing on a bent or flexed elbow, Victor-Tade urged residents to maintain high hygienic practice, social distancing, staying indoors, isolation and prompt report of suspected cases to the Oyo State Covid-19 Task Force designated helplines.
While appreciating efforts put in place against the pandemic by Governor Seyi Makinde of the state, Victor-Tade charged all well-to-do people and other politicians like her to show up and help the masses to fight against the pandemic to cope with the present situation.
She added that foodstuff like Gari and Rice should be distributed free to the people to alleviate the hardship that might come with the war against Covid-19.
“A congo of Gari and Rice each to every family member could go a long way to relieve our people”.
