The Council of Arabas and Oluwos under the Heads of Traditional Religion in Oyo State have extended their warmest congratulations to His Imperial Majesty, Iku Baba Yeye Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, the newly coronated Alaafin of Oyo.
In a statement signed by Prince Ifayemi Ajala Jokotoye, Chairman of the Heads of Traditional Religion, Oyo State, the group expressed their joy and confidence in the new monarch’s ability to lead the Oyo Kingdom to greater heights.
“Your vast experiences across the globe is an assurance Oyo Kingdom is blessed to have you as Royal father,” the statement read.
The traditional religion leaders assured the Alaafin of their support throughout his reign, stating, “Be rest assured of Councils of Araba’s in Oyo State support throughout your reign as Alaafin of Oyo.”
They prayed that his time on the throne would be marked by prosperity and growth for the Oyo people, saying, “May you lead with wisdom and courage. May Eledumare bless you with good health, long life and happiness we wish you a successful and prosperous reign!
“Kabiyesi, the traditional title of the Alaafin, was invoked in the statement, reflecting the deep respect and reverence with which the traditional rulers regard the monarch. The statement concluded.
The traditional religion leaders believe that the Alaafin’s “divine ascension to the throne of your ancestors is a testament to the fact that Eledumare has chosen you to lead the Oyo people to greater heights.”
They expressed their commitment to supporting the monarch in his new role, wishing him all the best as he embarks on his reign.
