In appreciation of his efforts and commitment towards the development of youth in Nigeria, two youth organizations, the Congress of Nigeria Youths (CONYO) and Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Youth Department honoured Arc Hassan Olawale Giwa with Awards of Excellence.
The Congress of Nigeria Youths delegation was led by the National Chairman, Ambassador Mumeen Ibraheem, National Director for Special Duties, Princess Ibirogba Adesewa, Director of Program, Comrade Shedrack Igbinoba and Deputy Director for Gender affairs, Comrade Babajide Funmilayo.
While presenting the National Outstanding Leadership Award to Arc Hassan Giwa, the National Chairman of Congress of Nigeria Youths, Ambassador Mumeen Ibraheem, described Arc Hassan Giwa as an icon of societal transformation.
He said the award was in recognition of his outstanding commitment to excellence, youth empowerment and great contribution towards Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
Also in his submission, President of Nigeria Coaches Association, Youth Department, Mr. Adeleke Kazeem, who led other coaches in Lagelu Council to present an Award of Excellence, commended Arc Giwa for his generosity and determination to inspire the lives of many youths positively.
Coach Adeleke disclosed that the award is to appreciate the contribution of Arc Giwa towards the coaches and association as a whole.
Arc Giwa, in his message of appreciation to the two youth organizations, Congress of Nigeria Youths and Nigeria Football coaches Association, Youth Department, expressed his happiness for the awards being given to him to recognize his efforts.
While dedicating the awards to his late parents, Alhaji Iyanda Giwa and Alhaja Hamdalat Ashakun Giwa for the good name they left behind for the children, he said that contributing to the development of youths is part and parcel of his foundation’s policy.
The founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation described the award as a motivating factor that most of the time encourages people to do more. He, therefore, said that he will not relent on his oars to use whatever within his capacity for the development of youths, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
Arc Giwa, the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), used the opportunity to commend all the leaders, the newly elected Ward executives and the entire members of APC for peaceful conduct exhibited throughout the period of the Ward Congresses recently conducted across the state.
He described the success of the Ward Congresses as a pointer towards the readiness and determination of the All Progressives Congress to take back the mantle of leadership again in Oyo State.
While applauding all leaders of the party across zones and local governments in the state for the initiative and strategy adopted to ensure peaceful Ward Congresses, Arc Giwa appealed to them for the continuous exhibition of love and good spirit of sportsmanship to realize the same result at both local and state congresses.
