As the world celebrates the joyous occasion of Christmas, Hon. Lanre Sarumi, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the last general election, has called for unity and love among the people. In his Christmas message made available to the media on Wednesday morning, Hon. Sarumi emphasized the importance of love and unity in fostering progress, especially during this festive season.
Hon. Sarumi described Christmas as a time to reflect on the essence of humanity—love and unity. He reminded the people of Oyo State, particularly the Ibadan North constituency, that the birth of Christ serves as a reminder of the profound love God has for humanity. “The primary celebration of Christmas is a reminder to us all that love is the greatest essence of humanity, for Christ was born mainly to demonstrate the deep love God has for humanity through the redemption brought by His birth,” Hon. Sarumi shared.
He further urged the people of Oyo State to make love and unity the foundation of their actions and interactions, stressing that such values would contribute to the greater good of society. “Let love be the guiding principle of our dealings, as it is through unity and love that we can achieve lasting progress,” he added.
In his concluding remarks, Hon. Sarumi extended his heartfelt wishes for a merry Christmas to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the leadership of the PDP, all party members, and the good people of Oyo State. “May this Christmas season bring peace, joy, and prosperity to our lives and our communities,” he said.
With a call for reflection and unity, Hon. Sarumi hopes that this Christmas will serve as a reminder of the importance of togetherness, love, and progress for all.
