The Christian Wake and Night of Tributes for the late Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, took place on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Victoria Garden Event Centre, opposite The Polytechnic Ibadan.

Earlier in the day, the remains of Barrister Omodewu arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, where notable party members, including Senator Fatai Buhari, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, and Oloye Teslim Folarin, alongside his immediate family, were present to receive his body.

The necessary documentation for the release of the corpse was promptly completed, allowing his remains to be transported to the APC party secretariat at Oke-Ado, Ibadan, where party members gathered for a short lying-in-state ceremony.

During the night of tributes, Abiodun Omodewu, speaking on behalf of the family, remarked, “His death has left an indelible mark on all of us, but his spirit of dedication and service will continue to inspire us.”

Mr. Johnson Kehinde, a representative from the Otu community, also shared his thoughts, said, “Barrister Omodewu was a ray of hope and a strong advocate for our community. His kindness and leadership will never be forgotten.”

Oloye Teslim Folarin reflected on Omodewu’s political contributions, said, “He was a great leader who fought for the party’s ideals with total commitment. We have lost a giant in our midst.”

Rev’d Dr. Paul Jenfa, in his sermon, called for solace in the teachings of Christ, emphasizing, “As we mourn, let us find comfort in the fact that he lived a life of purpose, impacting many for good.”

Barrister Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu passed away on August 19, 2024, in the United States of America after a brief illness, at the age of 61.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10 AM at First Baptist Church, Otu, Itesiwaju LGA.
