The Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government Area, Honourable Lateef Akorede, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and the Muslim Ummah in Ayete and Ibarapa land over the demise of the Chief Imam of Ayete land, Alhaji Abdulwahab Gasali Akewula.
In a condolence statement on Monday, Akorede eulogized the Late Imam while commending was him for his role in unity and peace keeping.
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of our revered Chief Imam, Alhaji Abdulwahab Gasali Akewula,” Honourable Akorede said. “He was a respected spiritual leader who played a significant role in promoting peace, unity, and Islamic values in Ayete land and beyond.”
Honourable Akorede described the late Chief Imam as a “great pillar of Islam” who would be greatly missed by the Muslim community.
“His contributions to the development of Islam in Ayete land and Ibarapa North will never be forgotten,” he added.
The Chairman prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed Chief Imam, asking Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus. “May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him a place among the righteous,” he prayed.
Honourable Akorede also prayed for the family and the Muslim community to have the fortitude to bear the loss. “I pray that Allah will give you the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss,” he said.
The Chairman assured the family and the Muslim Ummah that the Ibarapa North Local Government Area is in mourning and shares in their grief.
“We are with you in this moment of sorrow, and we will participate fully in the funeral rites,” he promised.
Honourable Akorede urged the people of Ibarapa North to remember the late Chief Imam in their prayers and to emulate his good virtues and exemplary leadership.
“Let us honour his memory by continuing to promote peace, unity, and Islamic values in our community,” he said.
