Candidates who are to write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State are yet to enter the premises of the institution as they have been denied access.
Staff of the institution were also prevented from entering.
The entrance to the institution is said to filled with candidates, parents and staff of the school.
InsideOyo.com learnt that the angry students barricaded the entrance of the institution as early as 6 a.m, to show their displeasure towards the owner states over the non-payment of salaries to staff which has culminated into incessant strike actions.
It will be recalled that students of the institution were at home for more 7 months following the industrial action embarked upon by workers’ unions.
Only last week, the institution’s chapter Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, berated the owner states for not honouring the agreement that led to the suspension of the over 7 months strike, threateningto down tools if the governments of Oyo and Osun fail to do something.
