There was pandemonium at Community High School, Olodo, Ibadan, as thugs invaded the school, injuring two students on the forehead. They also destroyed a car of a teacher, who was recently redeployed to the school.
Trouble, Insideoyo.com gathered, started yesterday a student named ‘Sambo, who was eyeing to be the school’s ‘first man’ was injured. He was said to be in an undisclosed hospital.
Early this morning, barely few minutes after the students had returned from the assembly ground, the cutlass-wielding thugs stormed the school premises in tricycles and motorcycles. Not to be outclassed, the students were said to have confronted them with stones in order to prevent themselves from being harmed.
The thugs, however, ran for cover, allegedly using a house nearby as an escape route when they sighted the arrival of men of the Nigeria Police Force, who had come from Iyana Offa, the Lagelu local government headquarters. The owner of the house, whose son was alleged of been a member of the invading thugs, was arrested while the aluminiun windows of the house was shattered.
Two tricycles and a motorcycle, which conveyed the thugs from Erunmu, a town in neighbouring Egbeda local government area, were later recovered and taken to the police station.
While teachers and staff of the school made attempt to prevail the students to return to their various classes, parents were seen, in droves, coming to collect their children.
As at the time of filing this report, plain-clothed security operatives surrounded the school premises.
