Barring any last minutes change of mind, the governing council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, has relieved all the principal officers of the institution.
While the bursar is relieved immediately, the vice-chancellor and other principal officers were given two months to ‘tidy up’ before handing over.
The decision to sack all the principal officers of the institution, insideoyo.com learnt, was taken after a meeting involved the governing council and the management, in Lagos, last night.
The Vice chancellor, Prof Sulaiman Adeniyi Gbadegesin, is to be relieved by Prof I. A. Adeyemi, the immediate past two term VC of Bells University and incumbent chairman of the Governing Board of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
Adeyemi would complete Oyo’s tenure before a VC is appointed from Osun.
Venerable Ojo is to take over from Reverend Agboola as the Registrar while Mrs Oyewumi is to act as Librarian
Prince A.B.C Olagunju is to quit as bursar while the next officer to him is to take over.
The development is coming 11 months to the expiration of the tenure of Gbadegesin.
The institution, jointly owned by Oyo and Osun States, was embroiled in a crisis that almost affected the fortune of the school and its students.
Though the details of what informed the decision was still sketchy as at the time of filing this report, a source who craved anonymity explained that ‘they were not accused of anything, they were just relieved as part of restructuring measures.
