Workers of the Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa have embarked on an indefinite strike over months of unpaid salaries by the Oyo state government.
Insideoyo.com gathered that the school was shut down on Wednesday morning, as students were not allowed to enter school by the striking lecturers.
In a related development, last month, the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo also announced an indefinite inter-semester break by shutting down all activities in the school premises.
Reports say the management used the inter semester break to cover the striking actions embarked upon by the workers of the institution.
Till date, the school is still under-locked as students have left for their various homes.
A source also disclosed to insideoyo.com that Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, among other state-owned tertiary institutions will soon join the strike action.
