The ruling All Progressives Congress has inaugurated Chief Akin Oke as the chairman of Oyo State chapter of the party, insideoyo.com has reliably gathered.
Akin Oke who is the chairman elected by the state governor’s faction of the Oyo APC known as Senaco was given certificate today in Abuja by the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun.
Recall that the Oyo State APC held parallel congresses in the state; while the Unity Forum members held theirs at the Liberty Stadium, Senaco members held theirs at the Adamasingba Stadium. Since then, the question of who owns the party structure and whose congress is authentic have filled the air.
Insideoyo.com also gathered that some members of the Unity Forum stormed the venue of the inauguration to protest the alleged imposition of Cheif Akin Oke as the state party chairman.
