Embattled popular musician, Yinka Ayefele, and Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, have agreed to hold talks today to find an amicable resolution to the issues that led to the demolition of Ayefele’s Music House, Challenge area, Ibadan.
The building, which houses his radio station, Fresh F.M., was partially demolished Sunday morning on alleged failure to regularize the structure’s building plan with the government.
The demolition has drawn condemnation from several quarters as well as elicited sympathy from members of the public, with many viewing the action as improper and an act of oppression.
Both parties have also saturated the public space with their perspectives on the crisis in the last two weeks.
While Ayefele has insisted that the action was politically motivated, Oyo State Government also proved that it followed due process in the acts leading to the partial demolition, stressing that the law of the land must be obeyed. The F.M. station is still transmitting.
It was gathered that Governor Abiola Ajimobi has agreed to meet the popular musician and his team today to hold dialogue on the issue.
The development is a pointer to a permanent settlement of the crisis over which both parties have proved their popularity and superiority positions.
