Four members of the House of Representatives from Oyo State have dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the African Democratic Congress, the Punch reports.
With this development, the ruling All Progressives Congress has become a minority party as 32 members of the House Representatives defected to to the opposition PDP, and four others to ADC.
Thirty-two members of the All Progressives Congress in the House of Representatives have just defected to the Peoples Democratic Party.
The Speaker, Mr Yakubu Dogara, has just made the announcement, throwing the PDP camp into jubilation.
However, the APC remains in the majority.
The announcement, however, threw the plenary into commotion with shouts of PDP, APC, Change, Sai Baba, etc, renting the air.
All attempts by the Speaker to restore normalcy to the House has so far proved abortive as members of both parties engage in shouting bouts.
Dogara described the whole commotion as the “beauty of democracy.”
