Honourable Ajibola Muraina, lawmaker representing Ibarapa North / Central Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja has debunked a news claiming that one of his loyalists has joined the People’s Democratic Party with over 1000 members.
Muraina, in a statement released to newsmen by his Media Aide, Olubunmi Sodipo, on Tuesday said “Bosun ibikunle is not my loyalist. I don’t know him. He was not part of our people that moved with us to APC and we did not meet him in APC or let alone decamping from APC to PDP.”
The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn to an online publication claiming that over 1000 APC members loyal to Hon Dr Ajibola Muraina, the Member representing Ibarapa Central/ Ibarapa North in the 9th House of Representatives, had decamped to the PDP. We could have ignored this roadside publication but for the fact that sometimes silence is not golden and the general public deserve to be informed.
“Bosun ibikunle is not my loyalist. I don’t know him. He was not part of our people that moved with us to APC and we did not meet him in APC or at al let alone decamping from APC to PDP. The directors of this pantomime are just day dreaming. The whole event was nothing but a media stunt and their claim of a thousand decampees is self-deception.
“What could have been easier than to show images of a thousand decampees, but instead there is a picture of a few pretenders on the high table and that is all the people that were there, as preliminary investigation has revealed. An eyewitness of the charade confirmed that in the show of shame, Bosun ‘decamped’ with only his father, his siblings and his aged paternal grandmother. It was all arranged to fool their paymaster that they are doing something when in actual fact they are doing nothing.
“In Idere, the people we met in the APC are intact and our people who moved in with us into the APC remain solidly behind us in the APC.”
The statement further read that “it is noteworthy that Hon Muraina being a grass root politician who commands great respect and strong following amongst the people will attract a number of make believe associates, but this is carrying comedy a bit too far.
“Hon Muraina will like to assure the APC party faithfuls in Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency and the general public that he continues to enjoy the full support of party members and his loyalists, even as he promises to continue to be a representative they can be proud of.” It concluded.
