The Candidate of the defunct Young Democratic Party (YDP) for Ibadan South West / Ibadan North West Federal Constituency in the 2019 general election, Hon. Abayomi Fagbenro popularly known as BIBIRE has led hundreds of his supporters to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Abayomi Fagbenro, along with many of his supporters under Bibire Peoples Vision Association, had at an event held at the UMC Secondary School, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, joined ruling PDP in the state and they were received by the Chairman of the party in Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Maruf Balogun, while speaking urged the People’s Democratic party members at the local government to join hands with the leadership of PDP at the ward, local and state levels in other to give a boost to Governor Seyi Makinde’s drive to make PDP the preferred party by Oyo State citizens.
He added that Governor Makinde through his style of leadership, has made politics more attractive and that the PDP has become endearing now.
There is no other party again in Oyo State apart from PDP.One of the exective of the party at the lbadan southwest local government, Pastor Biodun Popoola however enjoined Bibire and his supporters to be of good conduct and see other party members as one family for the interest of the party.
He said ‘’My brother, Abayomi Fagbenro must have seen what the government is doing and that is why he has made a symbolic move by joining the PDP.In his remarks, Hon. Abayomi Fagbenro Bibire, noted that he joined the great PDP because he was fascinated by the governance and leadership style of Governor Seyi Makinde with his service plan that resemble his own ideology, The works and tremendous achievements of Governor Makinde are extremely visible.
He promised that he would do all within his means to grow the party and advance its cause in Ibadan especially Ibadan South West / Ibadan North West Federal Constituency .Abayomi Fagbenro Bibire, in an interview with newsmen.
He said: “We are here on Wednesday to officially joined the PDP with my supporters. “I must also say that the emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde has made the party more endearing and I believe that joining the PDP to join hands with him to rebuild it in Ibadan South-West is a step in the right direction. 4 + 4 for GSM.
He urged everyone to help others outside, Everything is not about money ‘Enikeni ti iwo ba nipa, lati seranlowo fun oun naa lenikeji Re – Toju ReFagbenro used the opportunity to commend the governor for the wonderful job he has been doing in transforming, developing the state and delivering good governance.
His style of leadership, his humility and humanness has made politics and the PDP more attractive.
“So, as I said, I and my followers are now with PDP and together with all others, we will make the party greater and continue to be the party to beat in Ibadan South-West Local Government and the entire Ibadanland, because it is the only party with sincere commitment to the uplift of the people.”
