The Oyo State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Professor Musibau Babatunde has warned members of the public to be wary of scammers, who have opened fake social media inaccounts with his name and pictures.
The Professor of Economics, in a notice he put out, warned the unsuspecting public that some unscrupulous elements have created the fake accounts to extort money from the public and blackmail.
He said: “This is to notify the general public that some unknown individuals have created fake social media accounts (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, X account) with my name and photographs in order to extort and blackmail me.
“Kindly disregard the fake accounts, and please do not accept any friend requests from the fake accounts.
“Please, do not also entertain any financial requests from the scammers or deal with them in any way.
