The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has asked Governor Seyi Makinde to shed light on the allegation that each of the 33 Local Government Areas in the state have been instructed to contribute N50 million each for a project.
A statement on Wednesday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde, said the fact that Makinde promised the people transparency in the administration and governance of the state implies that he need to come out and state the fact.
Olatunde stated that “before saying Jack, the Local Government Councils have started complying with evidence of payment.”
He said what project is the state government embarking upon that required the contribution of N50 million each by the 33 Local Government Councils in Oyo State, adding: “Was the project captured in the 2020 budget?”
“When was the project advertised, tendered and awarded ? Which Contractor won the bid and at what cost?
“When is the project foundation going to be laid and what is the duration of completion? Where is the location of the project?” Olatunde asked
The Publicity Secretary said Makinde need to tell the people in clear term “where it is in the financial regulation that local government is expected to contribute money for the state government’s project?”
“The above and other salient questions agitating the mind of the residents of Oyo State would be appreciated if Gov Seyi Makinde can explain to the people within 24 hours,” Olatunde concluded.
