The chairman of ATISBO Local Government area of Oyo state, Alhaji Bashir Olumuyiwa Alade has called for cohesion and unity among the members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the local government.
Alade made this call during the general meeting of the party on Tuesday in Ago Are, headquarters of ATISBO South Local Council Development Area.
The meeting which was the first meeting of the party after the ward and local government congress of the party had in attendance leaders and members of the party.
Alade who urged members to close rank among themselves also donated N1 million naira to the party. Also, the Special Assistant to Governor on Legislative matters, Hon Samuel Adejumobi ‘Agbarapo’ and Honorable Ayobami Ojo ‘Joybam’, former Lawmaker, Oyo state House of Assembly donated N1 million each.
He also used the opportunity to thank leaders and stakeholders of the party for their fatherly roles during the misunderstanding between him and ATISBO local government lawmakers.
He also thanked them for their support since the commencement of his administration adding that crisis and misunderstanding are bound to happen whenever development is about to come.
He said the joy of everyone is that peace should reign after any crisis and misunderstanding for development to thrive.
He also used the opportunity to call on all the Councillors, Supervisory councilors, Special Assistants and other critical stakeholders to work with his administration and place the interest of the people of ATISBO LG above personal interest.
He assured them of his total commitment to the development of ATISBO LG and welfarism of the people of ATISBO LG. He added that his administration will not compromise the welfare of people for any personal gain.
He thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for giving ATISBO local government wings to fly adding that within one and half year, his administration has recorded a lot of tremendous achievement in the area of security; construction of police post and Amotekun; construction of bridges, culverts, drainages; provision of solar powered street lights; drilling of boreholes; construction of Kraal market to boost the economy of ATISBO LG.
He added that his administration has succeeded in sponsoring not less than 20 students of ATISBO LG origin to various higher institutions of learning such as School of Nursing, Abiola Ajimobi Technical University and others.
His words: “We need to close ranks and work together for the development of ATISBO Local Government. Crisis and misunderstanding are bound to happen whenever development is about to come, but the joy of everyone is that peace should reign after any crisis and misunderstanding.
“I want to assure you that my administration will not compromise the welfare of people for any personal gain. I thank Governor Seyi Makinde for giving ATISBO local government wings to fly. Within one and a half years, my administration has recorded tremendous achievements.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to develop ATISBO LG and improve the welfare of its people.
“My administration has succeeded in sponsoring not less than 20 students of ATISBO LG origin to various higher institutions of learning. We are committed to the development of ATISBO LG and the welfare of its people.”
