The Chairman of ATISBO Local Government Area of Oyo State, Alhaji Bashir Olumuyiwa Alade, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Chief Ayoola Makanjuola, popularly known as Makenson.
Makanjuola, who passed away on Friday, was also a former Chairman of ATISBO Local Government Area and a respected grassroots politician whose influence spanned youth development, sports administration, and local governance in the state.
In a condolence message made available to journalists, Alade described the late former commissioner as a dedicated public servant who committed his life to the service of his people.
“Hon. Chief Ayoola Makanjuola was a man of integrity, passion, and deep commitment to public service. His love for ATISBO and Oyo State was evident in everything he did,” Alade said.
The council chairman noted that Makanjuola made lasting contributions to youth empowerment and sports development during his tenure as commissioner, while also strengthening grassroots governance when he served as ATISBO LG chairman.
“He believed strongly in empowering young people and using sports as a tool for unity and development. His efforts helped shape many lives and created opportunities for countless youths across the state,” he stated.
Alade described Makanjuola’s death as a painful loss to ATISBO Local Government and the entire political family in Oyo State.
“This is a huge loss, not just to his immediate family, but to ATISBO Local Government and Oyo State as a whole. We have lost a leader who truly understood grassroots governance and served with sincerity,” he said.
The ATISBO LG chairman extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and political associates of the deceased, praying for strength and comfort in this difficult time.
“We pray that God grants the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and that the soul of our departed leader finds eternal rest,” Alade added.
He urged residents of ATISBO Local Government Area to honour the memory of the late former commissioner by upholding the values of selfless service, dedication, and community development which he stood for.
