The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has once again reminded the Nigeria youths of their roles in the fight against corruption.
The Acting Executive Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu who was represented by Oghe Orugonya of the Ibadan Zonal office at the Oyo State NYSC Orientation Camp, Iseyin, on Thursday, September 13, 2018 said “It is of great importance to keep reminding Youths of their roles in curbing corruption. The youths who are the future leaders of the nation must shun all forms of corruption and embrace hard work.
“You must stay away from any act of criminality which might yield immediate gains but will result into gnashing of teeth at the end. You are expected to take the lead in the fight against corruption’’.
Speaking further Magu said, “the enduring success in the fight against economic crime, including corruption can only be achieved when all stakeholders embrace this important fight. One critical group of stakeholders are the youths. I therefore urge you not to be mere spectators in the anti-graft campaign.
“Rather, you should take ownership of the fight by becoming change agents and help mold the minds of the younger ones in the schools so that the fight against corruption, economic and financial crimes can be far reaching”.
“The future of this country belongs to the youths. The decision you make today will determine the type of society your children will live in. Please don’t waste this moment, join us and together we can make Nigeria great again,” he emphasized.
“As Corp members, the first step is to join the EFCC/NYSC Community Development Group of which its members form the EFCC/ NYSC Integrity Club which will avail you the opportunity to work with the advocacy arm of the Commission and be in a position to serve as change agents by helping to mould kids in schools across the nation through the Integrity Clubs established in such schools with the help of the EFCC,” Magu added.
