The 60th anniversary of the Arabic Institute of Nigeria, Elekuro, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, will begin today and last till October 21 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The celebration is the brainchild of the alumni association of the institute under the chairmanship of Professor Muhib O. Opeloye of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State.
A statement by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Professor Abdul-Qadri Zubayr, of the University of Ilorin (UI), said a Jum’ah service and a lecture will hold on today at Elekuro, Ibadan.
Tomorrow, a conference will hold at the Olodo campus of the institute.
A conference, titled: Arabic Institute of Nigeria and Human Capital Development, will be held on October 21 at Mahd, Olodo, Ibadan, as the grand finale.
The special guest of honour is Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi and the Chairman is Alhaji Dauda Makanjuola, the Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land, Edo and Delta states.
The institute was established in 1958.
