The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) paid a courtesy visit to Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, Chairman of the Oyo State Project Performance and Monitoring Agency.
The visit aimed to brief him on the upcoming APWEN International Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) and solicit support for the event.
The conference, scheduled for September 22-26, 2025, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, promises to be a landmark event with over 1,000 female engineers from across Nigeria and abroad in attendance.
APWEN Ibadan Chapter Chairperson, Engr. Raheemat Abisola Adabanija, led the delegation to the office of Engineer Open Salawu on Wednesday, in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
During the visit, the APWEN team discussed potential collaboration opportunities with the Ogbomoso-born Civil Engineer, Engr. Salawu, exploring ways to leverage the agency’s resources and expertise to support the conference’s success.
While reacting, the Waziri Jari of Nupe Kingdom and Giwa Adinni of Oyo state assured APWEN of his support ahead of their international conference and annual general meeting.
He commended the women engineers for their roles in upholding the profession.
He added that the event aligns with APWEN’s mission to empower women in engineering and promote sustainable development through innovation.
Earlier, the National President of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), Engr. Dr. Adebisi R. Osim, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, as part of her working visit to Ibadan ahead of the 2025 APWEN International Conference and Annual General meeting
