A member of the House of Representatives, representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Honourable Shina Peller has said All Progressive Congress (APC) is the only party to reckon with in the country.
Speaking after revalidating his membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at his Koso ward 9, unit 8 polling unit in Iseyin Local Government, Peller said APC will rule the state come 2023.
He said people are taking the registration seriously and that he is happy that it has gotten to a point in Nigeria where people turn out to partake in the registration of a political party.
“As you can see, it is peaceful because the will of the people within the party has been done. Democracy is all about the people; it is a government of the people, made by the people and for the people and the only interest to protect in democracy is the people’s interest,” he said.
Hon. Peller continued,
“We are targeting to improve internal democracy within our party. I always say to people that our problem as a nation is not in the political party but is about leadership, which starts from the grassroot.
In democracy, you have to build from your family, to your compound, to your unit, ward and to the state level before you start talking about rebuilding Nigeria.
“You can see people turning out and they are taking party registration seriously, so I’m happy that I can witness this impressive turnout in my own local government and that is how it is in the whole of the Oke-Ogun zone.
“The only party to reckon with now is APC, any smart person now will see the reason to join APC. If you look at that form, the one for my local government has OY/SEY, it means only people from Iseyin can fill it; it means they cannot take that form to register somebody in Ibadan.
“You don’t have to be a billionaire before you can be part of a democratic process, it is empowering people from the grassroot level and that is why I’m taking it seriously and making sure that people are not cheated and the majority having their way,” Hon. Peller concluded.
