The Chairman of the Oyo state Housing Corporation, Barrister Bayo Lawal, has described the appointment of the duo of General Ajibola Kunle Togun and retired Colonel Olayanju Bisiriyu Olayinka as chairman and commandant, respectively, of the Oyo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun as round pegs in round holes.
The Former Attorney General of Oyo state said this in a statement personally signed by him and made available to insideoyo.com on Wednesday following the announcement of the duo’s appointments.
Bayo Lawal, the Bamofin of Kisi also commanded the Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for bringing the two experienced men to the security architecture of the state saying the state will not regret appointing them.
His words: “Please permit me to express my utmost happiness on the appointments of the two military gentle men as chairman and Commandant of Operation Amotekun in Oyo State. I make bold to testify that no appointments can be better than these two military brass for the offices. Their security and military service records are within the public domain, for which am not prepared to further comment key upon.
“Suffice to admit that Togun was/is a hard military intelligence officer who brews no nonsense. He is a hard nut to crack. From my vintage position and knowledge of him, Togun’s dedication to the security and wellbeing of Oyo State since retirement, is second to none. He has held various security positions in Oyo State, at Afenifere level, and also at South West. But more importantly at the Oke Ogun zone of Oyo State.
“He has to my knowledge delivered many papers on security at Regional and National levels. I have no Doubt that his wealth of experience will positively rub on the security architecture of Oyo State.
“As for the Commandant Olayinka, my quick check on him shows that he is a very hard worker. And master of his game I gather, he could be on his duties 24hrs without betraying emotional or psychological stress.
“Whoever sourced this pair for Oyo State must be thanked, applauded and praised. Especially now that security challenges are becoming daunting. I congratulate our Governor, Oluseyi Makinde. Oyo State will not regret your choices.”
