A former chairman of Iseyin Council area, of Oyo State, Mr Saheed Adejare-Alaran, has on Friday commended the initiative of the South West governors to organise a joint security outfit for the region.
The former chairman, popularly known as Alaran, made the commendation in his new year message to the people of the state and also solicited supports of the citizens for the governors.
“The Amotekun security outfit will become operational very soon and this is highly commendable, this is to underscore the uniqueness of our region.
“Back in the days, when we are still operating regional system, the South West was example for good leadership and centre of development for other regions.
“The present South West region leadership saw the need to improve the security of lives and properties of lives our people and also revitalise the regional integration , very laudable,” he noted.
Alaran, who was also the deputy governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), in the March 2019, governorship elections in the state, also facilitated with Nigerians over the new year celebration .
