Some 11 years ago as chairman of Oyo NUJ, the council under my watch organized a Golden birthday lecture held at the Premier Hotel, ibadan to celebrate him as a young promising politician.
It was a well attended ceremony and the lecture was delivered by a renowned scholar who is now the DVC of one of the leading private universities in the country today, Prof Olumuyiwa Popoola of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo.
Although I am far away from the shores of Nigeria, yet I cannot afford to ignore his 61st birthday.
Before our paths crossed, I have seen in Alli a man of compassion, service and industry. He has marked himself out for leadership positions even at a tender age.
I recalled that he had been elected Senator before now after having successfully served as chairman of Ibadan North Local Government with distinctions.
His tenure presently as a Distinguished Senator so far has been impactful, successful and beneficial to the people of his constituency and even beyond.
Alli is a good example of a round peg in a round hole whose major preoccupation is the welfare and well-being of the people.
I rejoice with you and looking forward to your inauguration in the future in a higher capacity by the grace of the Almighty God.
