If everything works out as planned, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi is billed to visit Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, this Sunday, as part of efforts to align with former members of the party as 2019 election beckons.
Makarfi, whose position as chairman of the party was authenticated by the judgement of the Supreme Court following many months of legal tussle with Sen. Ali Modu-Sheriff, will visit the Bodija residence of former governor Rashidi Ladoja.
Ladoja was governor under the platform of PDP. He now leads Accord party.
Though unconfirmed InsideOyo.com gathered that Makarfi and his team would meet former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala who is now in the All Progressives Congress, APC, Engr. Seyi Makinde of the Social Democratic Party, SDP and other former members of the party who had left the party.
Insideoyo.com learnt that the move cannot be unconnected with the bid by the PDP to unseat the APC at the federal and at the state levels.
