While speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Hassan Construction Company who was the Guest Speaker, Mr Saheed Hassan Lekan, remarked that combining education with skill acquisition could be challenging but worth doing.

He said that it is high time to have a large number of graduates as job creators not job seekers.

He stated that the reverse being the case has been affecting the growth of the Nigerian economy in the real sense adding that possibly a reason for slow transformation in the nation and the unfelt impact of graduates in moving the country forward.

He lamented on how certificates are being over-rated unnecessarily above skills in Nigeria unlike developed countries like China and Germany.

His position aligns with the JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede’s statement that “Degrees would no longer be the sole guarantors of jobs but demonstrable skills will.”

Also speaking about the uniquely designed SEE event, Hajia Otun Rukayat Abimbola, the Director of Academics, Al-Qalam Schools, said that the school shall not hesitate to be leveraging on innovative teaching and adoption of learners’-centered learning approach.

In the same vein, the leadership of Al-Qalam Schools added that the Nigerian educational system should promote more learnings in areas of industry’s needs skills in the classrooms at this critical time.

The school whose mission statement is to be a leading institution offering qualitative education with morals based on pristine islamic teachings; to nurture ideal muslim children who shall influence the globe positively and benefit from both worlds added that great nations deliberately positioned quality education as a transformationarily tool.
